Interning at Innisfree Farm II

Interning on Innisfree farm is hard but rewarding work.  On our working days, we begin at 7am and end around 1 or 2pm before it gets too hot. Our days are filled with weeding, planting, picking, watering, wheelbarrowing, etc…all the while getting to know the complexity of each plant.  After a healthy, straight-from-the-garden, flavorful lunch together, the majority of us jump in the pond and/or take a quick nap before hitting the books.  Chanchal’s library of medicinal books provides us with endless knowledge of each plant we have dealt with throughout the day. I often get inspired and find myself back in the garden picking the plants to make a tincture, vinegar or salve.  Most nights our brains are fatigued and our bodies are exhausted…so Tessa and I put our Bowen Therapy to practice then Carolyn and I tend to end the nights with some light hearted guitar and singing.
