Everyone wants to feel beautiful. But beauty looks different all over the world.
In America it’s a toned body and a shining smile…
In West Africa it’s curvy curvy curvy…
In Latin America natural & makeup-less …
In Europe it’s rail thin…
In India & Nepal it’s extremely long, dark, shiny hair and flawless skin.
I often find myself discouraged when I arrive in a new country when I don’t fit the mold of “beautiful” in that culture. But there is one truth that I have been taught time and time again:
At the end of the day, people don’t care what I look like. They just want me to love them.
It’s only when I get over my own self-consciousness that I can fully love the people around me. When I stop worrying about my own outward beauty, true & genuine inward beauty shines because I can finally focus on others around me.
This beauty is freeing. This beauty is world-wide. This is Beauty-Full.
“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.'”-1 Samuel 16:7
