On New Year’s Eve, I woke up to a hungry stomach…all of us did. So being the little house mom’s that we are, Kendall, Aimee, my new roommate Esthea, and I all went up to the crew galley and made pancakes for brunch. In the process, I had to run down to our room multiple times to grab an ingredient that we had forgotten. But the banana sunflower seed pancakes that we got to eat made it all worth it.
After brunch, I spent most of the day in town with a bunch of friends (Thursday is normally a work day, but due to the fact that it was New Years Eve, the majority of the crew had a ship holiday). The main reason we went to town was to get Kendall some jeans & get her nose pierced! Coincidentally, she didn’t end up getting either one…but we sure did have a blast anyways. The group I walked around town with consisted of about 5 girls and 3 boys. As the shoppers we naturally are, we took control and made the boys go into all the girly shops with us.
While some people were looking for clothes to buy, most of us were just trying on the goofiest outfits possible. Then we would walk out and get our “shopping consultant” opinion from our friends.
I’m not going to lie, it was nice to try on some fashionable clothes after going four months in what we call “missionary kid clothes”.
