Second time going to the Jesus Film and it was just as good, if not better, than the first time. As soon as we got out of the car, tons of children came running up to Bonny Jean and I and grabbed our hands…so we made friends right off the back. As the Jesus Film team was setting up the projector and screen, we were taking pictures of the kids because they love to see themselves in the digital camera. Unlike last time, we only had one bench and three chairs for people to sit on. I ended up sitting on the ground which ended up being much more comfortable than the bench anyways.
A little girl sat in my lap for the majority of the film. Interestingly enough, it was the same little girl that I had to pull away from a fist fight she was in with a little boy who took her seat on the bench earlier on.
The crowd tonight was much more expressive than the last one. They were clapping at all of the miracles & gasping at the part where Jesus was getting whipped. And boy were they excited to accept Christ into their lives! When they went up to the front to give their lives to Christ, a girl who had been sitting next to me (around the age of 11) was holding a sleeping child. He looked heavy, so I went up to her and held out my arms to see if she would let me hold him. Although she was a bit unsure at first, she handed the baby (probably her brother) over to me and was able to participate more freely. And, as any girl would be, I was more than happy to hold a sleeping baby in my arms. It was kind of funny though, because the baby was sacked out. I could move him any which way and he would just continue to be his limply unconscious self : ) Guess he’s used to being held by his sister.
When the night was finished, Bonny Jean and I picked up and hugged our little group of friends. They had giant smiles on their faces as we were leaving & even tried to ride on the back of our Land Rover!
