Fire Drill #2

If you have been following my blog, you know the whole incident with the first fire drill on the ship. The second one was 100 times better but still kind of funny. Unlike last time, the drill was at 3:30 in the afternoon and I was fully prepared. Being a cabin checker was a breeze and I made it out to the dock with no troubles. Once being accounted for, my dining room boss, Kate, grabbed our team in order to go prepare dinner. The rest of the crew, minus the emergency team and us lucky dining hall workers, had to stay lined up on the dock. Bonny Jean and I went running to our cabin in order to change shirts and put our work shoes on. She went ahead of me because I had to put my cabin checking sheet back on the door. On my way to our cabin, I was walking down the steps that come out at our hallway, and I stumbled upon about 15 men all dressed in their fire equipment with hoses spread across the hallway. I had been told that they take the drill very seriously…and I can say from experience that they definitely do. There was even a guy on the floor pretending to be unconscious and they had to bring him back to life! I ran through the middle of their little drill to my room as fast as possible because they all stopped and looked at me. As soon as I closed the door and turned around, Bonny Jean was standing right there and we both busted out laughing.

Gotta love fire drills ; )
